Life Journey of Mr. Girish (Aabasaheb) More

“ A Legacy of Spiritual Service and Sustainable Agriculture”

Early Life and Family Roots

Mr. Girish (Aabasaheb) More was born into a modest, hard-working farming family in Dindori, Nashik—a region historically recognized as Dandakaranya. The More family is well-known in the region for its deep commitment to spirituality and social service.

Aabasaheb spent his childhood under the loving guidance of his grandfather, Shri Khanderao Appaji More, respectfully known as Param Pujya Dadasaheb. His grandfather balanced managing the family farm with active involvement in village welfare. These early experiences left a lasting impression on young Girish and shaped his values of service, discipline, and community care.

Spiritual Awakening and Legacy

In 1984, Shri Dadasaheb received spiritual initiation (anugraha) from Pithale Maharaj, a disciple of the revered Swami Samarth. Following this, he devoted his life to spreading the teachings and mission of Swami Samarth, often traveling to support and uplift the suffering and distressed.

After his passing, the spiritual mantle was carried forward by Param Pujya Gurumauli Annasaheb More, who institutionalized the spiritual and developmental efforts through the formation of Dindori Pranit Seva Marg. For over four decades, the organization has carried out grassroots efforts through its Agricultural Division, serving farmers and rural communities across India with unwavering dedication.

Education and Agricultural Inclination

Alongside his formal education—from primary school to college—Girish More was deeply involved in agricultural activities under the guidance of his grandfather and father, Shri Shriram More (Param Pujya Gurumauli).

His exposure to sustainable farming practices and spiritual discipline from an early age led him to develop a keen interest in organic, natural, and chemical-free farming. Watching his elders perform agricultural experiments with great passion inspired him to innovate and contribute meaningfully in the same field.

A Vision Rooted in Service and Sustainability

Mr. More made a strong personal resolve early in life—to not only implement advanced, nature-friendly agricultural practices but also to share them with fellow farmers. His approach blended ancient agricultural wisdom with spiritual philosophy and scientific insight.

Understanding the real-world challenges of farmers—personal, social, and economic—he worked to provide free-of-cost support and solutions. The aim: to empower farmers and protect them from harmful superstitions and financial exploitation.

Expanding the Reach: National and Global Impact

The Agricultural Division of Dindori Pranit Seva Marg now operates through over 7,500 service centers in India and abroad. Thousands of agricultural representatives are trained through these centers to support farmers at the grassroots level.

Through this network, more than 580 agricultural fairs and knowledge seminars have been conducted nationwide. These events provide practical, hands-on guidance on a wide range of topics including:

  • Modern farming technologies
  • Traditional and indigenous farming methods
  • Organic and spiritual agriculture
  • Environmental stewardship

This blend of tradition, innovation, and service ensures that farmers are prepared for the demands of both today and tomorrow.

Mr. Girish (Aabasaheb) More’s life story is a unique blend of spiritual devotion, social responsibility, and agricultural transformation. By nurturing farmers spiritually and economically, he has become a beacon of hope for rural communities in India and beyond.

His journey reminds us that farming is not just an occupation—it is a sacred mission when done with purpose, knowledge, and compassion.
